Eğitimci, kültürel araştırmacı ve küratör; halka sanat projesi – İstanbul (2011) ve Art Halicarnassus – Bodrum (2019) tasarlayıcı direktörü. Doktora tezini Türkiye’de Sanat Sermayesi, İnisiyatifler ve Kamusal Alan üzerine yazdı. Üniversite düzeyinde sanat yönetimi ve kültür teorileri dersleri verir. Bireysel olarak çağdaş sanat sergileri için görsel anlatılar yaratır, şiir ve öykü yazar.
Educator, cultural researcher and curator; she has initiated and been directing halka sanat projesi-İstanbul (2011) and Art Halicarnassus-Bodrum (2019). She wrote her Ph.D. thesis on the Art Capital and Initiatives in Turkey and the Public Sphere. She teaches art management and theories of culture on university level. As an individual practice she creates visual narratives for contemporary art exhibitions; writes poetry and stories.
2016 yılında halka‘ya katıldı, bir çok anahtarı teslim aldı. Mekanların iki yakasını bir araya getirir, insanları ve şeyleri koordine eder, gözetir. Proje, sergi, atölye ve eğitim programları organize eder. Sergi projelerinde küratörlük yapar. Genel olarak okur, araştırır; uyuyamaz, sergiler düşler.
She joined halka in 2016, and got hold of many keys. She maintains spaces and people together; coordinates humans and things in her own way. She organizes projects, exhibitions, workshops and educational programmes. She curates exhibitions at halka. She generally reads, researches, cannot sleep and dreams exhibitions.
2017 yılında halka ekibine dahil oldu. Tam zamanlı fiziksel mevcudiyetine ara verdiği zamanlar da dahil halka ve ekiple gönül ve zihin bağını koparmadı. Birlikte düşünme ve yaratmanın gücüne inanır, en ufak bir fikirle heyecanlanır, eş küratörüyle birlikte sergiler düzenler; bir yandan da İstanbul Bienali üzerine yüksek lisans tezini yazmaya çalışır.
She joined the halka team in 2017. She kept her union of heart and mind with halka and the team even when she gave a break to her full time physical presence in space. She believes in the power of thinking and creating together, feels excitement with the slightest idea, organizes exhibitions with her co-curator, and perseveres in writing her MA dissertation on the Istanbul Biennial.
Sanat Yönetimi alanında aldığı akademik eğitimi 2018’de halka‘da uygulamaya sokarak sanatçı ve küratör asistanlığına başladı. Mekansal düzenlemelerde ve iletişim işlerinde parmak izi vardır. İçindeki üretme isteğinin dışa vurumuyla evinde oluşturduğu işliğinde resim yapar, 2019’dan beri sergilere katılır.
Transferring her academic education in Art Management into practice at halka, she started as an artist/curator assistant in 2018. She has fingerprints in spatial arrangements and communicational affairs. As a result of her inborn urge to create she paints and participates in exhibitions since 2019. She continues her artistic pursuits in her home-studio.
Aldığı İç Mimarlık eğitimi sonrası şansını İstanbul’da denemeye karar verince 2018 yılında yolu halka sanat projesi’yle kesişti. 2019’da bursiyer sıfatıyla yaptığı mekanın dijitalleştirilmesi, sergi videolarının yanı sıra prodüksiyonlardaki desteği ile ekipte yerini aldı. halka‘nın “deneyimden öğrenme” felsefesini benimseyip “ne iş olsa yaparım” diyerek, halka ile bu yolda yürümeye ve öğrenmeye devam etmektedir.
In 2018, after graduating from Interior Architecture Department, he decided to try his fortune in İstanbul where his path crossed with halka. As the recipient of halka Fellowship in 2019, he began to digitalize the exhibition spaces, make introductory videos and be engaged in various solutions of production. Since then he adopts the idea of “learning from the experience” which encourages him to continue to follow halka’s path.

Su Altı Hastalıkları ve Hiperbarik Tıp uzmanı olduğu için aynı zamanda tıp doktorudur.
Painter and sculpture artist. Invisible face of halka sanat projesi-İstanbul (2011), its supporter and critique; the co-founder of Art Halicarnassus-Bodrum (2019). He draws, paints, constructs things and ideas in visual arts almost 24/7; casually writes poetry . He is also a medical doctor specialized in Under Water Illnesses and Hyperbaric Medicine.

Sanatçı kolektifleri ve sanat inisiyatiflerinin ideolojik güç ilişkileri dışında, nesnel ve niteliksel kriterler doğrultusunda desteklenmesi ve kültür ürünleri üretiminde içten gelen kişisel ve kolektif ifade ihtiyacına ve çok sesliliğe alan açıcı yaklaşımların geliştirilmesi toplumsal bir doğallık olarak görülmedikçe bu kulvarda çalışan bağımsız sanatçı ve küratörlerin gerekli kaynaklara erişimi bir sorun olarak sürmektedir.
Bu kapsamda, halka sanat projesi’nin 2020’in başlarında karşı karşıya kaldığı mekan(-sızlaşma) meselesi, çalışmaları için yeni gösterim alanları bulmayı ve sanat çevreleriyle ile yeni buluşma kanalları üzerine düşünüp hareket etmeyi gündeme getirmişti.
#halkacevrimici’nin amacı, halka’nın geçmiş etkinlikleri arasında yer alan en iyi örneklerin yeniden ve daha paylaşımcı biçimde dolaşıma sokulmasına, yeni içerik üretilmesine ya da mevcut içerik formatlarının yeni bir bağlamda baştan konumlandırılmasına altyapı oluşturmaktır.

Why #halkacevrimici?
Having access to the required resources in the cultural production will remain mainly problematic for independent artists and curators working in the field until objective criteria based on experienced knowledge and quality of work are set as the natural basis for diversity of voices in the art sector. This is also the substantial need for artist collectives and art initiatives who stay away from taking part in ideological power relations.
In this context, halka sanat projesi has faced the problem of space (and displacement) in the early days of 2020; and the need to think and act on new channels of sharing work and meeting with the art communities has presented itself as a must.
Among other reasons, halka’s problem of space (and displacement) was related to Moda’s becoming a highly popular district in Istanbul, the on-going transformation of spaces, tremendous raise in rents and eventually the defeat of a handful number of cultural venues against the “kill-time” spaces of the café culture.
The period of Covid-19 on the other hand brought a new phase. The pandemic and its “new normalities” have interrupted the habits of face-to-face working and sharing physical environments in many sectors. As time goes by, the rate of relocating art and cultural events and archives on computer or internet-based platforms has significantly increased.
In our opinion, this attitude exceeds an obligatory status and translates itself into the active use of current means of communication, and the possibility of reconnecting various parts of the creative equation such as the artists, curators, writers, and the audience in new ways. It also means opening diverse aspects of the art practice to a wider reach without being limited to a physical space.
For this reason, halka sanat projesi initiates #halkacevrimici (#halkaonline) project.
